Pre-Installation Criteria

Pre-Installation Criteria

Purpose: To identify the software and files that must be present and/or configured prior to installing Pentagon 2000 on server and client machines.

 

Prior to installing Pentagon2000SQL , the following tasks must be accomplished:

  1. Install Microsoft .NET 3.5 on all server (both application server(n) a machine on which the Pentagon 2000SQL executable file is (and supporting files are) installed and therefore, on which the software runs and SQL server(n) a machine on which Microsoft SQL is installed and the Pentagon2000SQL databases are stored and managed) and client machine(n) a machine from which a user may access the application server in order to operate within the Pentagon2000SQL user interface(s) from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21.
  2. Install Microsoft .NET 3.5 SP1 on all server and client machine(s) from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=22.
  3. Install Microsoft .NET 4.6 on all server and client machine(s) from https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=48130.
  4. Ensure all Windows Updates have been installed on all server and client machine(s).
  5. Update Microsoft Visual C++ (32-bit) on all server and client machine(s) (regardless of whether OS is 32-bit or 64-bit).
  1. If the server or client machine identifies that the 32-bit program cannot be installed on a 64-bit machine, then do not install.
  1. From Pentagon 2000 FTP (LOGIN: pentagonftp)...
  2. Open Utilities folder.
  3. Open Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) folder.
  4. Install from vcredist_x86.exe.
  5. Update Microsoft Visual C++ (64-bit) on all server and client machine(s) (regardless of whether OS is 32-bit or 64-bit).
  1. If the server or client machine identifies that the 64-bit program cannot be installed on a 32-bit machine, then do not install.
  1. From Pentagon 2000 FTP (LOGIN: pentagonftp)...
  2. Open Utilities folder.
  3. Open Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64) folder.
  4. Install from vcredist_x64.exe.
  5. Install SQL Client (32-bit) on all client machine(s) (regardless of whether client OS is 32-bit or 64-bit).
  1. If the server or client machine identifies that the 32-bit program cannot be installed on a 64-bit machine, then do not install.
  1. From Pentagon 2000 FTP (LOGIN: pentagonftp)...
  2. Open Utilities folder.
  3. Open Microsoft_SQL_Native_Client folder.
  4. Open 2008R2 Client x86 folder.
  5. Install from sqlncli.msi.
  6. Install SQL Client (64-bit) on all client machine(s) (regardless of whether client OS is 32-bit or 64-bit).
  1. If the server or client machine identifies that the 64-bit program cannot be installed on a 32-bit machine, then do not install.
  1. From Pentagon 2000 FTP (LOGIN: pentagonftp)...
  2. Open Utilities folder.
  3. Open Microsoft_SQL_Native_Client folder.
  4. Open 2008R2 Client x64 folder.
  5. Install from sqlncli.msi.
  6. Update fonts on all application server(s) and client machine(s).
    1. From Pentagon 2000 FTP (LOGIN: pentagonftp)...
    2. Open Utilities folder.
    3. Open Fonts folder.
    4. Install Arialn.ttf and arialnb.ttf.
    5. Install all fonts in Fonts WIN2000 R2.zip.
    6. Install all fonts in Operations_Fonts.zip.
  7. Install WINRAR on all application server(s).
    1. From Pentagon 2000 FTP (LOGIN: pentagonftp)...
    2. Open Utilities folder.
    3. Open Winrar folder.
    4. Install from wrar351.exe.
  8. Install Core FTP LE on all application servers(s) from http://coreftp.com/download.html.
